Woke up a 4a.m. in Istanbul. It's snowing and the sun won't come out for another hour. We're biding our time before the fun begins.

This hotel room has too many beds.

Bye-Bye North America:

Thanks Gaby and Kirk for Breakfast.

Now, that's a train in California.

Dear goof balls!,
What brave travelers you are! It was quite hot when we were in Istanbul.
For mosaics and frescos, don't miss this one, link below. Also, though not GF, I loved the Simit bread ( looks a bit like a sesame bagel) freshly baked from a little bakery in Sultanamet, or from one of the guys that carry them in stacks on their heads! Yummy.
Enjoy Cappadocia.....worth the effort to get there!

Chora, Chora Museum, Church of Holy Savior in Chora, Chora ... Kariye Camii - Chora Church, with its glorious mosaics and frescoes, holds an important place in the hearts of many lovers of old Istanbul.
